Book Design: A new typographic interpretation of a children’s book
Poster size: 40 inches x 80 inches, Book: A5 size
The concept is Cross Cultural Design. The English version has parallel structure (stands for ‘west’), and the Korean version has vertical structure (stands for ‘east’). The original book, ‘Odd Velvet’ is written by Mary E. Whitcomb. Using mathematical symbol to give easy interface to readers some remarkable ideas were examined (like ‘am, are, is’ is marked as ‘=’, ‘and’ is marked as ‘+’, ‘of’ is marked as ‘fraction’, etc).
